LOS ANGELES, April 3, 2024: Morgan Lewis partner Barbara Fitzgerald has been selected as Legislative Woman of the Year by California Assembly member Lisa Calderon and as one of 11 women named the 2024 Distinguished Women of the Year from the 56th California Assembly District. The annual recognition honors women from across the district for their contributions to the community and their leadership in their respective fields.
Barbara represents employers in all areas of employment law. Her practice emphasizes litigation, primarily the defense of claims for wrongful termination, workplace harassment and retaliation, employment discrimination, and individual and class wage and hour claims. In addition to her litigation work, Barbara advises employers on employment terminations, employment contracts, wage and hour compliance, and investigations of alleged employee misconduct. She is a fellow of The College of Labor & Employment Lawyers and a member of the Board of Advisors for the Institute of Corporate Counsel and the Editorial Board for Matthew Bender's Labor and Employment Law Bulletin.
Barbara will be publicly honored with a state resolution on April 4.
