Morgan Lewis was one of the first global law firms to enter Miami’s legal market, opening its doors more than 45 years ago. Our Miami team offers the full spectrum of legal services in our core practices of high-stakes commercial and labor and employment litigation, including complex business torts and contracts, consumer class actions, labor and employment issues, intellectual property claims, and white collar defense. Working in collaboration with lawyers from across Morgan Lewis’s global network, we serve local, national, and international clients in a wide range of industries and are dedicated to understanding each client’s legal concerns in the context of specific business and industry demands.

With experience in all of Florida’s federal and state courts and arbitral tribunals, lawyers in our Miami office serve as trial and lead counsel in complex matters involving commercial and business disputes, intellectual property issues, and consumer class actions. Our Miami white collar litigation and government investigations team represents public and private companies in their most high-stakes and sensitive matters, including internal investigations and government investigations involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other fraud laws. We also regularly counsel clients on compliance programs and risk reduction.

We counsel clients on the full array of labor and employment issues, including Americans with Disabilities Act public accommodation and accessibility litigation, Fair Labor Standards Act and wage and hour litigation, ERISA litigation, noncompetition/nondisclosure agreement counseling, and restrictive covenant, discrimination, and whistleblower litigation. We also advise on individual employee litigation and arbitration and employment counseling, as well as on workplace safety and health issues involving enforcement, compliance, and workplace investigations, including disputes before the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Chemical Safety Board, and OSHA state plans. Our arbitration practice is one of the most well-recognized in Florida.

Our investment management lawyers advise funds, managers, financial services firms, and institutional investors on formation, investment, transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters. We focus on how our clients develop and market their strategies, regardless of the vehicle—whether registered fund, exchange-traded fund, business development company, hedge fund, private equity fund, insurance-managed fund, or separately managed account—they choose to go to market.
